Diseases in modern times

Looks like the swine flu virus is back, is this the new face of influenza that wiped out 100s of millions in the 1920 and 1930, i think most goverments are hand in glove and not talking about it.
Every rainy or winter season it seems the virus is getting stronger. I dont remember falling constantly sick. Or is it that the civic agencies are not doing their job?

And what is most worrying is there have been 83 deaths this year so far due to the disease being reported in the week ending August 8.

Maharashtra reported the maximum number of 51 deaths, 12 were reported from Karnataka and 6 from Andhra Pradesh.

Seven deaths were reported from Gujarat and one each from West Bengal, Goa and Uttar Pradesh.

Till date, samples from 1,54,259 people have been tested for influenza H1N1 in government laboratories and a few private laboratories across the country and 36,240 (23.4%) of them have been found positive.

This is worrying trend and if you add the new mosquito borne diseases like dengue, chikungunya and malaria it is hard to keep your self safe.
Stay safe, dont ignore the smallest problem and see your doctor.
